What is recorded here

Loughrea is named for a lost castle that never appeared on any map. The town still carries the shape of that absent building in its streets and water. What the castle looked like, who built it and when it disappeared has gone quiet. The name remains the evidence, repeating the shape of the missing place every time it is spoken.
