Castle and Loughlinstown House in County Dublin, Ireland. Loughlinstown House is a two storey Georgian House incorporating a late 17th century core built by Sir William Domville, forming the back portion of the present house after replacing a medieval castle on the site. This site is located in a low lying urbanised area, with an area of forestry close by to the west. Loughlinstown House is a two storey Georgian House, which, incorporates a late 17th century core built by Sir William Domville (Bence-Jones 1988, 193). According to Ball (1901, 79) this forms the back portion of the present house. This had replaced a medieval castle on the site (Ball 1901, 72; Turner 1983, 88). Sir William Dom built the core of Loughlinstown House in the late 17th century, later incorporated into a Georgian house. The site is historically significant as it reflects early landownership and architectural development in the area.
