What is recorded here
Castle, unclassified in Garristown, County Dublin. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Dublin recorded one ruined castle, a thatched stone house called the Colledge of Garestowne, a garden plot, twenty-three tenements, a mill, ash trees and the parish church on lands belonging to Elizabeth Talbot, widow of John Talbot of Malahide. The manor kept Court leet and Court Baron, yet the castle itself has no marked position. A limestone hood moulding fragment in the south gable wall of a building opposite Garristown Church may have come from it.
