Curragh Elltine Castle vanished into the Limerick soil before anyone marked its stones, leaving only a name and a memory of height. In 1657 S. Molyneux held the place, perhaps watching carts shake dust along a road that no longer remembers the entrance. The castle may still stand buried under grass, waiting for someone to stop asking permission and begin digging.
