Newbrook House overlaid a castle belonging to Thomas Keigh Burke in 1574. The building has vanished under rubble and domestic ruin, leaving only vaulting traces and two splayed windows on the east wall. What remains is a ghost inside a ghost, a castle swallowed by the house that replaced it.
