What is recorded here
Castle in Ballinvira, County Limerick, Ireland, may have been imagination or a vanished building. The name still circles the townland like a guard dog with no master.
There is a passing reference to a castle in this townland in 1583 but Westropp (1906-7, 218) considers the existance of a castle here 'doubtful'.
