Castle of Fiddes Farm stands in Dunnottar, Aberdeenshire, a post-medieval farmstead where ordinary life continued long after nearby castles fell out of fashion. The name suggests a place once proud enough to call itself a castle, yet it survived by doing farmwork rather than waiting for history to notice. Maybe a family lived there for generations, believing the land belonged to them simply because they kept it alive.
