Castle of Allardice stands in Aberdeenshire as a three-storey tower house built in the mid 16th century, though first mentioned in 1297. Its vaulted pend, stair turrets and surviving entrance archway suggest a home designed to withstand siege and weather alike. A later wing bears a date stone marking 1695, proving the castle kept changing as the people inside it changed.
