What is recorded here

Motte and bailey castles everywhere are the same shape because the function is the same. Dig a hole, throw the dirt upward, climb the hill, drop something heavy on the person climbing toward you. The bailey beside the motte exists because one tower cannot feed, breed or house a whole household. Size and shape follow life, not pride.
