An unknown hand cut a narrow channel beside Castle Kennedy, forcing living water through solid ground to serve a house that no longer answers. The canal still holds that shape in Dumfries and Galloway, a thin blue line on the land where human ambition pressed against stone. It does not need a date to be remarkable; it is a visible scar of intention, waiting for someone to walk its edge and imagine the people who made it.
