Ballinlaw Castle stands in ruins among Kilkenny fields, its tower house reduced to a broken silhouette that has watched the land for centuries. The stones still hold the shape of rooms where people lived, loved and argued before forgetting them. What is left is enough to imagine the heat of a hearth, the weight of a door and the sudden silence that followed.
