CASTLE in Maghon

CASTLE

What is recorded here

Manghon castle stands in County Armagh as a post-medieval ruin, its stones reduced to a low ridge above the farm land. No tower or gate survives to mark the hands that built it, only the shape of a vanished house preserved in the earth.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CASTLE. Recorded period: POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
