What is recorded here
Castle in Loughadian stood in County Down during the twelfth century, its stones touching water and sky before memory faded. It may have watched boats, hidden people, or simply marked a boundary nobody wrote down. The castle is gone, but the lake still holds the shape of that absence.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CASTLE. Recorded period: C12TH. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
