Castle Hill in Inverness is a military mound where kings, rebels and soldiers kept turning stone into powder, leaving behind only a well, a stair and a fragment of wall beneath modern county buildings. The castle was built, attacked, demolished and rebuilt so often that memory itself became a weapon, each new fort erasing the last man's name. What remains is not a ruin but a rhythm of violence made visible in the shape of the hill.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
