Castle Gate Pit, Amroth

Coal Mine

What is recorded here

Castle Gate Pit, Amroth is a Post Medieval coal mine in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It joins a tight cluster of former pits, spoil heaps and pithead remains near Amroth, where black earth and wooden gear once fed local fire and trade. The land still carries that bruised shape: gate, pit, heap and woodland pressing together like a forgotten machine.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Castle Gate Pit, Amroth as Coal Mine from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
