Castle Fraser Policies holds medieval rig and furrow marks still visible beside Aberdeenshire, testifying that people worked this land long before the castle became the story. The narrow soil ridges suggest repeated planting, harvesting and forgetting across centuries. They may have fed servants, soldiers or neighbours, while the grand stone tower waited above them. The policies remind us that castles depended on ordinary hunger and patient labour.
