One cannot stop wondering whether the castle kept a person, a family or a passing army, because that much has gone quiet. What remains certain is that Carrowkeel stands in Burrishoole as a castle marker, not as a finished story. The absence of detail does not diminish the place; it invites patience. A castle is not complete without memory, and memory may still be forming.
