Castle Malgwyn stands opposite Llechryd on the south bank of the Teifi, a three-storey Georgian house built around 1795 for Sir Benjamin Hammet. He bought the estate to control nearby tinplate works, closed the old public road through his land, and built bridges across the water conduit and Morgenau brook. The house changed hands several times, became a hotel, and was renamed Hammet House in 2012.
