Castle Malgwyn is a Georgian country house built around 1795 for Sir Benjamin Hammet, who closed the old public road through his estate and forced the bridge to carry traffic across his own water conduit. The house changed hands several times, became a hotel, and now works as a guest house, while the stable court and entrance survive from the later Gower improvements.
