Carn (Remains of)

In marshy ground, c. 30m NW of another fulacht fiadh (CO060-076002-). Low, roughly circular mound of burnt material (L 12m; Wth 11m; H 0.5m). Internal revetment of 19 stones; rectangular stone-built trough exposed. Described as a 'kerb-circle' by Hartnett (1939, 42). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
