What is recorded here

Cambysses may have stood in Castle Bay, Barra, as a nineteenth-century brig, but even its identity remains uncertain. The sea around the Hebrides keeps many things hidden, and a bridge deck may have sunk beneath the green water while its memory faded from local speech. What is certain is that Castle Bay still exists on Barra, and the coast there has carried traffic, treasure and tragedy for centuries.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cambysses (possibly): Castle Bay, Barra, Sea of the Hebrides as Brig (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
