What is recorded here

Children died young in that Kerry valley and went into the calluragh because church rules would not touch them. The oval bank still stands around the ruined church and old house stones, but no grave marks remain to show where each small body lay. An Seabhac wrote in 1939 that the practice continued into the twentieth century, which means ordinary families kept carrying infants through gaps in the bank long after the world beside them had changed. The place holds more than archaeology; it holds the part of local life that could not be written into decent records.
Calluragh Burial Ground is recorded as a archaeological place in County Kerry. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
