Caitlín R. Kiernan

Caitlín R. Kiernan was born in Skerries, County Dublin, Ireland, on 26 May 1964. She left that coast behind as a child after her father died, carrying the shape of loss into Alabama museums and later into dark fantasy novels. The birthplace remains small in the story but heavy in the result: a writer who kept returning to what disappears, reappears or resists being named.
