What is recorded here

Cairn stands on a west-facing slope in the middle of the Termon plateau in County Clare. It is a small stone pile, not much bigger than a cart, with a hint of a central chamber still locked inside its stones. Another cairn waits seventy metres east, and more are scattered across the plateau like forgotten sentences in a long lost language. The field system still marks the land around them, proving people once lived here, moved here, and believed this open stone ground was worth shaping.

On a W-facing slope towards the middle of the Termon plateau and within a field system (CL006-217----) extending all over the plateau. Described by Keegan (2016, 121) as a cairn (c. 4m E-W; 5.5m N-S) with some evidence of a central structure. Another cairn (CL006-230----) lies c. 70m to the E and there are several more dotted around the plateau. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 8 December 2021
