Folach na Marbh is an oval cairn beside the old mountain track from Glin North to Mullaghveal, reputedly marking where someone died. Passers-by still add a stone, perhaps keeping that unknown death company instead of forgetting it. The mountains may have taken a traveller, a herdsman or a child, but the cairn still receives their stones and answers without naming the victim.

Folach na Marbh: An oval cairn of stones located beside the old trackway which leads over the mountains from Glin North to Mullaghveal. It measures 6.5m x 6.2m x c. 1.5m in height and reputedly marks the spot where some person died (An Seabhac 1939, 232). It is the local custom for passers-by to add a stone to the cairn.
