What is recorded here

Cairn is a small stone ring on a Clare ridge, built or dumped beside a wedge tomb still visible sixty metres away. Sheep walk across it now, and bushes choke its centre, but the stones remain arranged against the ravine wind. Whatever hand placed them worked quickly on high ground, marking death, territory or memory before forgetting took the meaning back.

On a high point on an E-W ridge, in rough pastureland, overlooking a ravine c. 50m to the N. This almost circular cairn (dims. 7m E-W; 6m N-S; H 0.5m) was recorded by T. Coffey (SMR file). Loose stone (dims. c. 2m, H 0.5m), largely covered in bushes, visible towards its centre may be field-clearance material that was thrown up on it.
