Killaturly Lough watches from four hundred metres east while the cairn crouches in cutaway bog, a ten-metre ring of stones half-swallowed by heather. At its heart a shallow depression hides a rectangular stone tray and one upright slab, perhaps the remains of a cist where someone placed what they loved before forgetting the way home. The bog keeps returning what it takes, folding human time into moss and darkness.

Located in a broad, flat expanse of cutaway bog, bordering Killaturly Lough which lies c. 400m to NE. Ground rises to NW Circular heap (10.5m E-W; 10.6m N-S) of stones, protruding from a covering of peat and heather. There is sub-circular depression (max. dim. c. 2.5m) in the centre, possibly the result of disturbance of the cairn. In the centre of the depression on its N edge, is a partly peat-covered, sub-rectangular concentration of stones (1.8m NW-SE; 0.9m NE-SE) flanked on the NW side by a single upright stone slab (L c. 1.2m NNE-SSW; T 0.12-0.33m; H 0.65m). At the NNE end of this upright, a second stone can be glimpsed, possibly set perpendicular to it. These features suggest that the cairn may incorporate a cist-like structure at its centre, but the remains are difficult to record and interpret due to the thick covering of peat and heather.
