Cairn stands sixteen metres wide on the high Burren, its grassy surface hiding hollow spaces where stones vanished long before the modern livestock pen appeared beside it. Three other cairns and a hut site scatter within two hundred metres, suggesting a busy landmark rather than a lonely marker. People may have gathered there to read the wide horizon or deposit something valuable before leaving the upland behind.

On high (avove 700’ contour) semi-karst, rough pasture within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-), and commanding wide views. Indicated on Robinson’s map of the Burren (1977). This large, grass-covered, subcircular cairn (diam. c. 16m; H 1.4-2m) is composed of stones, with hollow areas where some stones appear to have been removed. A modern livestock pen and a pile of concrete blocks lie just to the W. A hut site (CL010-247----) lies c. 33m to the N; a second cairn (CL010-029----) stands c. 117m to the SW, and a third cairn (CL010-031----) c. 110m to the SE, and there is an enclosure (CL010-244----) c. 124m to the W.
