Cairn is a 19-metre-wide Neolithic stone circle in County Cork, built around 3000 BC and still standing beside a smaller ring barrow. It may have marked midwinter festivals, when people gathered in darkness to honour the turning year. The stones have watched forests grow and retreat, and they still hold the shape of that old gathering.

In commanding position atop hill. Small cairn of stones (H 1.5m; diam. 1.9m) known locally to be "ancient". Some stones regularly removed and replaced by those who climb hill.
