What is recorded here
Carran is a small Burren village where Michael Cusack helped found the Gaelic Athletic Association. It has a hundred and six people, rocky limestone fields, old church ruins and a schoolhouse from 1858 now used by the Burrenlife Project. The place is not grand, but it is alive: a birthplace, a parish and a stubborn corner of Clare where culture still has edges.
Spellissy (1987, 102) refers to a second cairn near the arched 'cairn' of See Fin (CL002-002----). The location of this cairn is unknown.
