CAIRN exists only as a memoir label in Mullaboy, its true position lost despite official mapping. The name suggests a heap of stones marking death or direction, yet no hand has placed it or pointed it out. Forgetting has turned the cairn into a ghost, present in wording but absent from soil.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CAIRN (O.S. memoir site, unlocated). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
