Clearance cairns mark human tool use and changed ground, yet the hidden Kye example preserves a much older shape. It is a subrectangular mound of fieldstones and larger boulders, about nine metres long, five and a half metres wide at the west end and half to one metre high. The official label reduces a strange place to a farm chore; the measured form resists that reduction.
