Castlecaufield in Lisnamonaghan, County Tyrone, still holds a seventeenth-century house and bawn built above an older fort, layering human ambition across centuries. The stones may have watched fields change hands, weather break, and memory fade, yet they remain under State Care because continuity itself needs protection. Whatever lived there is no longer named, but the shape of the place preserves the fact that people kept returning to the same ground.
