In poor marshy pasture on the floor of a NE-SW running valley, on land sloping gently to the SE. There are fair views within the valley floor. During the construction of the Cork-Dublin gas pipeline a spread of charcoal and burnt stone, interpreted as probably part of a fulacht fiadh, was uncovered (Sleeman 1983, 365-6).
