Burnt spread in Knockaneacoolteen — Report the wrong picture

Knockaneacoolteen holds a burnt spread inside wet Kerry pasture, marked by natural springs and a drain cutting through marshy soil. The landowner revealed the scar during early 1980s reclamation, exposing dark material in the eastern drain face while overgrowth swallowed the southern boundary. People may have heated water there for cooking or cleansing before the field changed, but the earth keeps that purpose ambiguous beneath its green disguise.

In wet pasture, in a marshy field with natural springs. The landowner noted a large spread of burnt material during reclamation in the early 1980s. Some burnt material is visible in the E face of a drain to the W. A field boundary which bordered the fulacht fia to the S was replaced by a deep drain which is covered with overgrowth.
