Burnt spread in Ballynahoulort

'This feature took the form of a natural depression which contained a spread of burnt material – fire cracked stones, charcoal etc. – which was overlain by a series of charcoal stained clay, silt and marl deposits. The excavators suggest that the depression may have been the edge of a small pool or pond and that these clay.silt/marl deposits accumulated on the burnt material following its use.
