A charcoal-filled pit (1.54m N-S by 1.16m; D 0.32m) and a possible flue-like feature (0.6m N-S by 0.38m; D 0.05m) to the S were excavated here in 2001 prior to the insertion of a Bord Gáis Éireann gas pipeline (Excavation Licence 01E0823). The base of the pit contained a small patch of oxidised or fire-reddened clay. (Doyle 2003, 416)
