A well preserved burnt mound was exposed here as part of the construction work associated with the Greystones Southern Access Route (Excavation Licence 04E0128; Site 19). It was preserved in situ. (Wiggins 2007, 482-3).

Burnt mound; date uncertain but likely Bronze Age. Represents a common but enigmatic type of domestic or ritual site, often associated with heat-treated structures or industrial activity.
