Located on a gentle S-facing slope. A section of a burnt mound (L 9m; T 1m) can be seen in the section beneath a NW-SE field bank and drain.

Burnt mound in Ballykerin Upper is a Bronze Age ritual or domestic feature, characterised by a mound of heat-shattered stones. Such sites are commonly associated with water-related activities, such as heat-treated water for ritual or practical use.
