What is recorded here
This is the record for the burnt mound (in Area A) excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3232) on the N11 road improvement scheme. The spread of burnt mound (15m x 10m) sealed a central trough which had wattle lining. Also sealed beneath the trough was a spread of unburnt stones interpreted as a working platform, and two pits (WI036-075----) which may belong to an earlier period than the burnt mound.
