Kilcurrivard in County Galway is a lost burial place, but the facts are thin and the story should stay small. What is known is that the site exists in that area; how large it was, when it was used, and what it contained are not clear. End of data.
In gently undulating tillage. During reclamation work, the landowner came upon a structure which he described as two flags set on edge and capped by a third (E-W; L c. 0.8m, Wth 0.5m); there were no stones at E and W ends. The site was subsequently bulldozed. Possibly a cist.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).

A small Neolithic or early Bronze Age burial monument, possibly a simple cist or kerbless stone cairn; its significance lies in its basic construction and potential for providing insights into early funerary practices in the region.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
