What is recorded here

Fletcherstown holds a buried man from the late 1400s or early 1600s, discovered beside a damaged cross base in 2004. He was middle-aged when he died, old enough to have known the weight of local choices. The mound kept his shape while the world above forgot his name.

In 2004 a mound and cross base (ME018-001----) were disturbed and human remains uncovered. These represented at least a middle-aged male and dated to AD 1486-1650 (King 2010). Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 24 February 2010
