Burial in Donaghmore (ratoath By.)

Burial

What is recorded here

Donaghmore holds a buried chamber and human remains brought into a sandpit in 1956. The dead lay without goods, close enough to the passage for the connection to feel intentional, yet the exact spot has slipped from the land. What is known is that people were set beside an underground work, not forgotten in ordinary soil.
In 1956 human remains were discovered in a sandpit at Donaghmore. No grave goods were found in association with the burials, but they were discovered close to a Man-made underground passage (ME045-009----). However, the precise location is unknown (Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol. 2 , 502). Compiled by : Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 14 March 2013
