Caher Island in County Mayo, Ireland holds a burial site, though the details of who lies there and when remain unrecorded. The island itself suggests a place set apart from the mainland, where death may have been marked with simplicity or ceremony now lost. What is certain is that someone was laid to rest there, and the island kept that person company long after the living world moved on.
