Twenty articulated skeletons lay trapped beneath later cellars, their medieval bones mixed with broken line-impressed tiles and pottery. A thick stone wall marked the edge of the cemetery, guarding the unknown parish where St. Peter's church once stood. The dead waited patiently under Dublin soil, preserving a forgotten community long after human memory faded.

The site of the parish church of St. Peter's (1863-67) was the site of an earlier church (DU018-020089----). The parish church was a T-shaped building with a N transept and galleries built on a site donated by Francis Aungier in 1680 (Bradley & King 1987, 2, 128; FMD map 1978, F17). Excavations in the vicinity of this church in 1999 (97E0094) revealed paving tiles and the remains of twenty articulated inhumations (Reid,M 2000,72). These were part of a medieval burial horizon that was delimited to the west by the stone foundations of a medieval boundary wall c. 1.2m wide. Medieval pottery and line-impressed floor tiles were recovered from the clearance work-from later cellars where residual materials dating to the medieval phase had been dumped.
