What is recorded here
No visible tomb survives in Rusheen East, yet a 1930s witness still believed ancient people lay beneath the soil. That memory may point instead to the court tomb at Carrownlacka, where stone and shadow preserve what forgetting erased.
NMI Topographical files (1930) include letters from a local source which refer to a 'possible ancient burial ground' which might be a megalithic tomb in Rusheen East Td., Kilmovee.
No monument matching this description is known in Rusheen East townland. One possibility is that it refers to a court tomb (MA073-050----) which is located in Carrownlacka townland, to NW of Rusheen East.
