What is recorded here

Kilcoursey held an old graveyard and castle before modern boundaries erased them. The lost graves may have belonged to families who lived beside the castle, feeding it with labour and love. They died, were buried, and stopped repeating their names. The land keeps their shape even when people stop seeing it.

Unlocated graveyard within the townland of Kilcoursey that is mentioned in the OS Letters of 1840 which states that in this townland there 'is an old graveyard and an old castle (OF008-016----)' (O'Flanagan 1927, vol. 1, 48-9).
