Burial ground in Corrabally (ibane and Barryroe By., Kilkerranmore Par.)

Burial ground

What is recorded here

Corrabally holds a buried ringfort where local tradition places a burial ground, though no grave markers break the overgrown soil. The earth may keep names that language has forgotten, waiting beneath grass and silence.
Local tradition of burial ground; in ringfort (CO144-010001-). No grave markers noted in interior; heavily overgrown. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
