Clearing the bog revealed a children's burial ground on a Clare ridge, its small stones still standing beside vanished lives.

Situated on a gentle S-facing slope at the S end of a ridge in an area of poor boggy land. A slightly raised, roughly circular area (17m N-S; 18m E-W; 0.45-0.6m above surrounding ground level) surrounded by rushes. A circular central area (diam. 5m) is slightly higher than the rest and is heavily overgrown. It contains one upright gravemarker (max. H 0.4m) and two smaller ones. Some very low stone gravemarkers were noted under the grass cover through the remainder of the site. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 8 February 2016

A Neolithic burial ground, likely dating to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its location and features suggest a ritual or communal site for child burials, reflecting early funerary practices and social structures in Ireland.
