Death came young and often on that ridge, prompting a separate burial ground for children beside the main church. The place is no longer marked by stones or a visible fence, yet the land itself still carries the shape of a rath, a circular boundary drawn in soil and memory. Children died there, were carried there, and were laid to rest within a defined space set apart from adults. The field has changed, but the circle remains, holding the lives that never grew old.

On the level crest of a low N–S ridge in improved pasture with the field boundaries to the S removed. Indicated and named ‘Burial Ground for Children’ on the 1842 and 1915 eds. of the 6-inch OS maps. The children’s burial ground is not visible at ground level but it is defined by traces of an enclosing rath (CL007-008002-).
